Author Satya Das’ fourth book, Us is informative and inspiring. It’s a memoir that shares personal philosophy and experiences in a way that calls the reader on a journey to find love and compassion over division. It is a prompt to consider how we can move forward in our world to create space for all of us, together.

The gracious space of the margins and careful consideration of the book’s interior was intended to mirror this idea of space given to think and contemplate. Going on a narrative journey is an experience, and the physical act of reading the book should support this feeling. The cover allows the bold message “Us” to be prominent but it is supported by an olive branch (just as we should extend ourselves to others while considering the greater “Us”). The pieces work together in their contrasting nature to make a better whole.
